What can i do to increase my chances of conceiving a baby?

I am 20 yrs. old and my fiance' is 55, now i read on here that he can still be fertile, but i want to know the best ways to increase my chances of conceiving a baby without going get tests done and all that crap. HELP. oh and p.s. im not sure if an inflamed cervix can prevent me from having kids.
