I had a small blowout stretching from 12g to 10g, what should I do?

should I size down and let them heal again? both ears seem to be slightly irritated, my right ear has some pus in it and is swollen a lot more, but doesn't have a blowout, and my left one appears to be clean and not as inflamed but it's the one that had some skin on the back, indicating a blowout. so I'm a little bit confused. I've been using antiseptic, ice, and ibuprofen all day, but I haven't changed out the plugs. should I size down and let them heal or should I just leave the 10g plugs in and keep babying them for the next month? I'm really worried about scar tissue and how they'll be if I ever want to take them out, so any input would be great. thanks.
