What are the benefits of a live-in resident assistant?

im thinking about applying for a live-in resident assistant position, but i want to know what are the pros and cons of this. the compensation description says stipend per pay period, live in (room and board) and regular hourly wage for awake hours worked. can somebody please explain this. thanks
